How it works

The provider is responsible up to the small white fiber socket on the wall. Everything behind it decides how fast your internet really is day to day. That’s where we come in.

What we do
More than a socket on the wall.
A 1 Gbit/s fiber line is of little use if the standard box’s WiFi ends in the next room. We build the network behind the connection.
Goodbye to the white box.
Provider routers are often the weak point: they overheat in summer, and the "Monopuesto" mode is not a real bridge mode.
- Your own router
A UniFi gateway handles routing, firewall and WiFi. The provider box can go in the cupboard.
- SFP module or external ONT
The fiber goes straight into your own device. We transfer the serial number and access key from the old one.
- Configured properly
Correct VLAN and priority, so upload is fast too, not just download.
Fiber over long distances too.
On large properties, copper cable often doesn’t reach the outbuilding. Fiber does, and it’s unaffected by thunderstorms and damp.
- Connect outbuildings
Guest house, pool house, workshop or gate: linked to the main network by fiber at full speed.
- Storm-proof
Light instead of electricity in the cable, so no surges that destroy equipment between buildings.
- Wireless link as an alternative
Where no cable can be laid, we connect buildings with a point-to-point wireless link.
We splice it ourselves.
Fiber isn’t simply plugged in, it’s welded. We bring our own fusion splicer and work directly on your property.
- Fusion splicing on site
The fibers are fused with an electric arc, permanently and with minimal loss.
- Weatherproof closures
Underground splices sit protected in sealed closures, in rain and heat alike.
- Termination box with connectors
At each building the fiber ends in a box with connectors, where the switch or ONT plugs in.

A thick stone wall, typical of Mallorcan fincas, swallows more performance than the whole route to the mainland.

How fiber reaches your house on Mallorca.
From the submarine cable at Palma to your router, it’s one single system. These four stations are worth knowing.
- Exchange in the village
Almost every larger village has an exchange from which up to 64 households share one connection.
- Box on the pole (CTO)
The box on the wooden pole has 8 or 16 ports. Each port is one house. If it’s full, installation takes longer.
- Socket on the wall (PTRO)
Up to the small white socket, the network belongs to the provider. From there on it’s your network, and that’s what we take care of.
- Enough for everyone
The fiber carries 2.5 Gbit/s to customers, 10 Gbit/s on newer connections. Enough even when everyone is online at once.

Is fiber available at my address?
Our free coverage check at jumpit.eu/en/coverage shows it, based on the official Spanish broadband map. If needed, we also check whether a port is free in the box on the pole.
Which provider is best?
Most providers, such as O2, Digi or Finetwork, share Movistar’s network. Regional providers like Connectabalear run their own networks. We advise independently, based on your address and needs.
Can I use my own router?
Yes. The cleanest way is to replace the provider box completely, with an SFP module directly in the router or a small external ONT. The box’s "Monopuesto" mode, on the other hand, is often a shaky workaround.
Can you run fiber to my outbuilding?
Yes. We lay the cable, splice the fibers on site with our own fusion splicer and fit a termination box at each building. Where cable isn’t possible, we offer a wireless link.
Why is my WiFi slow even though I have fiber?
It’s usually not the fiber but the WiFi in the house. Thick stone walls slow the signal down a lot. Several well-placed access points solve it.
